SQL Server DBA
We are looking for talented individuals to join our development team as we expand to meet the needs of our growing company. We work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment encouraging participation and interesting ideas. We are integrating database administration functions into our Scrum-based development team. The Database Administrator resources will establish and maintain critical and non-critical database environments supporting our high availability infrastructure. This position is a great mix of operational, development and application database administration.
Essential Functions: Plans, designs, and executes database administration tasks including installation, configuration, maintenance, and scheduled jobs. Perform daily monitoring of databases with evaluation, troubleshooting, optimization, and resolution of performance and non-performance issues. Perform capacity planning activities. Manage backups, recovery, and upgrades. Assist and perform data modeling and data warehouse design functions.
Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 3 years managing a SQL Server database environment. Minimum of 3 years Transact SQL/Stored Procedure development experience. Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2000 in both development and production environments. Ability to install, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL Server database instances. Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2000 and Windows Server. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision. Solid organizational skills.
Desired Qualifications: BS Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or other relevant combination of training and experience. Knowledge and experience of SQL Server high availability technologies (mirroring, failover clustering, replication, log shipping) is a significant plus. Experience with MySQL is a plus. Experience with Oracle is a plus.
