Am I responsible for installing patches on my VPS server?

Windows VPS

You are not responsible for installing patches on your Windows VPS server. HostMySite takes care of patching your Windows VPS server during the normal monthly maintenance window. Available Windows patches are downloaded from Virtuozzo's patch server and put through HostMySite's rigorous quality assurance process in a test environment. Once testing is complete, HostMySite's VPS technicians install the patches on your Windows VPS server on the scheduled maintenance date.

Please Note:
We strongly recommend against manually installing Windows patches yourself. Doing so may cause your Windows VPS server to stop responding or not function properly.

Linux VPS

HostMySite takes care of patching the hardware node your Linux Virtual Private server resides on as well the Linux VPS templates. New Linux VPS's will have the most recent patches. Due to the nature of programs that may be running on an individual Linux VPS, HostMySite does not patch exisiting Linux VPS's. Customers are responsible for patching their individual Linux VPS.
