How do I enable password authentication for the ColdFusion Administrator on my Windows VPS?

The following article explains how to enable password authentication for the ColdFusion Administrator (CFAdmin) on your Windows VPS. By default, CFAdmin is only accessible after you connect to your VPS server through Remote Desktop Connection. You can access CFAdmin without entering a password. You have the option of requiring a password to gain access to CFAdmin, to add an additional level of security.

To enable password authentication, please follow these steps:

1. Open a browser window and go to http://ipaddress/cfide/administrator/. You will use the IP address for your Windows VPS server.
2. Log into the ColdFusion Administrator using your VPS Remote Desktop user.
3. Expand Security and click CF Admin Password.
4. Check Use a ColdFusion Administration password.
5. Enter the password you wish to use.
6. Re-enter the password you wish to use.
7. Click Submit Changes.
