How do I create a domain in SmarterStats on my Windows VPS?

The following article explains how to create a domain in SmarterStats on your Windows VPS. This procedure will need to be performed for each domain you wish to setup in SmarterStats.

To create a domain in SmarterStats, please follow these steps:

1. Log into your server through Remote Desktop Connection (instructions for connecting to your server through RDC can be found here).
2. Double-click the Log into SmarterStats icon on your desktop.
3. Login as the administrator using the following information:
   • Site ID: admin
   • Username: admin
   • Password: admin password
   
4. From the Manage menu, click Add Site.
5. Enter the requested site information:
   • Site ID: you can enter a number or use the default number
   • Server: select localhost
   • Domain Name: the domain name of the site you wish to add
   • User Name: create a user name that will log into SmarterStats
   • Password: create a password for the user
   
6. Click Next.
7. Enter the full path to the log files or click Get settings from IIS to have SmarterStats find the log path. The remaining options should be left at the defaults.
8. Click Next.
9. Select the time zone you would like the stats processed for.
10. Add any additional default documents you may use, for example index.cfm if you are running coldfusion applications in the website. Add each default document on a separate line.
11. Click Next.
12. Click Save.
