How do I add a group in VisualVault?

The following article explains how to create a new group in VisualVault. A group is used to assign multiple users the same levels of permissions. Groups are the recommended method for managing security within VisualVault.

Note: You must login with a user that has administrative privileges.

To create a new group, please follow these steps:

  1. Open a browser window and go to your VisualVault Login page.
  2. Enter the following information:
    • User ID: this will typically be in the format of firstname.lastname
    • Password: the password for your account
  3. From the Admin Tools menu select Groups.
  4. Click New Group.
  5. Enter the necessary information:
    • Group Name: the name of the group
    • Group Description: a short description of the group
    • Select an associated company location, customer or supplier from the drop down
  6. Click Continue.
